Executive Director of National Fellowship of Raceway Ministries, Dr. Roger Marsh, interviews Tony Edwards, Chaplain at Boyd Raceway, in Boyd, Texas. Throughout the conversation, Marsh and Edwards briefly talk about experiences during their years together in ministry at Texas Motor Speedway, and then get into detailed discussions about Edwards’ experience as an auto mechanic and instructor, and what led him to get involved in Raceway Ministries work. In the conversation, which follows a weekend of ministry at Boyd Raceway that Marsh attended with Tony, they talk about what makes for a healthy long-term relationship between chaplain and raceway staff, racers and fans (Edwards has been there for 20 years). In addition, they discuss the need for and benefits of having a strong ‘raceway ministries – local church’ relationship. In addition, references are made to the benefits of joint ministry efforts on the part of the local dirt track ministry, a local super-speedway ministry, and the National Fellowship of Raceway Ministries. Anyone aspiring to be or currently involved as a local raceway chaplain will benefit from the responses of Tony Edwards to Roger Marsh in this podcast.
