In this podcast, director of the National Fellowship of Raceway Ministries interviews David McNew, chaplain at Elk Creek Dragway and Motor Mile Speedway in Virginia. David shares some points of comparison between ministry at drag racing venues and circle tracks; shares what he has found to be key elements of ministry to the drag racing competitors and fans; and then elaborates on some great points regarding ministry to the staff and officials at raceways. Marsh and McNew discuss the value of networking and connecting with other folks involved in motorsports outreach, and talk about funding for Raceway Ministries chaplains and teams. Since McNew and his Victory Lane Ministries are partnering with the National Fellowship of Raceway Ministries to fall under the NFRM’s “group exemption” with the IRS, Marsh elaborates on the various ways that Raceway Ministries chaplains and groups can acquire 501.c.3 status with the IRS.
